Hey ya'all, this is Radevillen on Xbox Live. I had a blast. And being only my third night on Xbox live It was real nice to have some people to roam around with, despite the fact that I was mic-less and a mute. I really need to get a headset (and a faster horse).

Can't wait till next time. Thanks for havin me!.

I've never had any problem with Gurps, though Im not overly thrilled with it.
As for Mongoose's traveler, I'd be using it go run my own setting so that sounds perfect. I read about the Third Imperium online and for one of my players who is die-hard Warhammer 40k guy, I think I should avoid all ties to the Imperium of any kind.

Very nice!
Lord love the SRD!

I like the idea of the game, but for my group narrative control in their hands does not really play too successfully. I tried giving them narrative control during skill challenges in 4e and most of them just stood there and stared at me.

That being said, the system and cluster generation mechanic and idea might be able to be ported into any other game with just a small nudge here and there. I think this could work very nicely.

Thanks Mr. Luke.

I'm contemplating starting a sci-fi game for my group. Something part space opera, part hard science. Something fun with startships and explosions.
I have read a few reviews of Mongoose Publishing's current edition of Traveler (sadly I have never played any version of the game). I wonder if any of you fine folks out there would recommend Traveler or make other suggestions.

What I am looking for in a game.
My group is currently playing 4e and I believe the level of crunch involved is just about right for the group. Most of them aren't into the crunch, so when it comes time to level up the ask me "What do I want?" "how do I get better?" kind of stuff. Luckily with 4e you don't really need to know how the car runs as long as you can drive it. As a DM however, I like the crunch to be in the background. I want rules for the things that happen and rules for the designing of things, worlds, starships, etc.

I have d20 Modern/Future/Cyberspace/Future-tech already. Are there any of you out there that have played both games and if so which would you prefer and why?

Thanks for your time!
Merry Xmas too

Now that I am not DMing I am really missing it. I mean, what am I supposed to do during the week if I can't plan to kill the characters in my game?

You could start a podcast (but then the odds are that you'd start playing Story Games within a year).

I've considered it. But my game group is so hard to get together the podcast would just be me wanking about how I wish we could play more often.

As a related issue, growing up really takes away from game time! With all of us in our mid 30's and half of us with kids to boot it gets a little difficult on the planning end.

I actually felt let down after prepping for 4e. I'd find my work was done far earlier than I thought it would be done...and I felt alone....frightened....sad.
But I wouldn't trade it back for 3.5 any day of the week.

And it's boring as all hell to listen to.  Of course, I don't like Actual Play.  I don't really see why anyone would want to hear it, ;)

You know, my Step-dad would listen to Dodger's radio all the flippin time when we went anywhere in the car. Never being into sports I could never ever understand why anyone would want to listen to audio of people playing a game.

Now, I have a half-hour drive to work and since discovering podcasts I fully understand it. Instead of baseball, I have RPGs. And listening to an actual play can truly be rather fun, at least whilst I drive to work. Of course I relate it similar to how I feel about porn: I don't wanna watch someone else do it....I wanna do it! But I digress. For the most part, it's entertaining and informative.

I bought HotB and have read through the rules pretty thoroughly. However, my group of gamers are far more into the Kill stuff and take their loot type of game. So sadly, I can't seem to talk them into giving this game a whirl (I may incorporate the Seasons mechanic into our 4e game as the characters are reaching paragon and might end up as some type of nobles at some point.)

That being said, I'd love to hear the actual play just to hear how some of this goes down. No matter how bad you fine hosts may think it is. I think it might be helpful.

I found the D&D website actually had some map builder software you could use online. From them I downloaded all of their files and imported them into the library. There were 4 folders and I imported them all at once, which I have discovered was rather unfortunate as now there are tons of tiles with no organization. Meh....

You can download the tile sets here

I'm the boy who cried wolf....
I seemed to have figured out my problem. However, now I need to know where I can get more dungeon tile libraries. Can anyone provide me with a link?

The Podge Cast / Help with Masterplan

I heard you guys talking about Masterplan so I downloaded it last night. I then followed the prompts to log in to my DDI account and downloaded all the appropriate files. However, after saving the current project, every time I go to open the file again the program prompts me to download all the libraries again. For some reason it is not keeping them associated with the files. Is there any way to install the libraries (since I have them all downloaded) without logging in to DDI all over again?

Any help would be appreciated.

By the way, I run a Vista machine if that makes any difference.
