Thank you Yog and David for the replies.  It has helped.

I have only ran a few games and I have never ran a con game before.  I want to do something for a local con because the schedule had a lot of D&D and I want to add something different.  I have time to decide what I'm going to do.

Thanks Yog for the Call of Cthulhu tips.  I enjoy the game and really want to become a good keeper.

I am thinking about running two different games.
One is an intro to Call of Cthulhu for new players and run the Haunting.
The other is Dread and running one of the adventures from the back of the book.

I am thinking about running a game at a convention.  I was considering using the introductory adventure and making it an intro to the game for new players.  Is running an introductory adventure out of the book frowned upon?
