Actually, I think Phil's got a point.

"Asshole hero" is a tired cliche, and I'm tired of playing that guy.  "Villain hero" is I guess...  better?

No I just play villain. I kill people for no reason and I enjoy it. If someone else calls me a hero, that their problem not mine.

So how did you play Mass Effect Phil?  Was the ending cool?

see, now i keep getting told this, apparently its similar to KOTOR in time consumption so its worth its money?

btw, gaming story aside, KOTOR ruined my soul, the original. I had pumped 59 hours into it, doing every side quest and being a punk kid getting lost, playing pajaak and all that. I get on the ship to travel to Koriban, the last planet, the sith planet. Autosave, I go and take a break...

the next day i come back, start up my xbox, and i see:

"This save file has become corrupted and can no longer be read"

*facepalm*

I got so angry. 59hours. gone.

You're totally right; I think Obsidian made that one, maybe? I'm too lazy to check. Of those three, that title definitely had the weakest ending; you could see the "betrayal" coming half a game away, and the fact that they never finished it ensured the narrative broke down on several occasions during the conclusion. I guess that game really impressed me with the nature of its storyline; after so many years of rampant Star Wars fanboyism, its rare that I'm genuinely surprised by new plots or developments in my comfortable little universe.

I haven't actually worked my way through this whole thread, but I feel compelled to share a little gem that I came across that really improved the KOTOR 2 experience for me: Let's Play KotOR II. The story is far deeper than I realized after two plays through. In fact, I'm pretty sure that you can't experience the entire story, due to Influence limits and such.
And the AC said, "LET THERE BE LIGHT!".

Yeah I'm way to lazy to read all that. KOTOR 2's ending blew ass, it always will.
A word that starts with F and ends with uck....

Thanks, that's actually been really interesting. I'm not invested enough to read the whole thing, but the cut content does make the story that much more appealing.

Okay, is there anything on that page that's really surpising? I just want some one to post or link to the highlights of what I might have missed playing the game for 60 hours. Thanks!
