Eh, I like difficulties all over the board, and it fits with the heavily simulationist feel (the game requires a two-joystick (one of which has a thumbstick on top), 40-button, three-pedal, six-switch + dial control console to play, FFS) ... so long as there is at least a little challenge.  I tried playing Bayonetta on one of the easy modes.  O.O  That's just stupidly easy.

I like challenge, I just dislike challenge based on how long I can play for at one sitting.  Yeah, I might gain an 'advantage' by being able to save mid-mission but really, who cares.  If I'm dedicated to playing the game and making it as hard as I can, then I won't use the save function.  It's all about options and I don't see the point in limiting them.

Well, when you make a $200 game, you're clearly not aiming for a broad market.

Anyway, I wasn't here to try to defend Steel Battalion to one of the 99.97% of the population that couldn't give less of a shit about it, I was here to ... umm...

Shit, this has come a long way from "What the hell is Steam, anyway?"
