My Pumpkin Pushers (goblin) faced off against Brad's Brisbane Drop Bears (Pro Elf). I was gearing up for mutilated AV7 elf bodies, and used my 110 TV inducements to get 2 bribes (because goblin bribes are 50k now).

I started off receiving, and was ready with my chainsaw at the LOS... and the ball lands right next to my TD zone. I stun an elf with the chainsaw, but then I uncharacteristically decide to try picking up the ball first with my AG3, rather than leave it lying there and let the elves swarm my half. So of course my goblins fail the pick-up, and the turn ends without me even doing anything damaging to the elves. So they injure the chainsaw off the field and swarm my half. On my turn I try to dodge a goblin out of a tackle zone, to maximize how close to the ball I can move all of my people if that just works, to get him adjacent to a troll... and he fails the dodge, and I curse AG3. So the elves pick up the ball and score.

Turn 3, I receive again. This time I have Bombardier on the field. I manage to get the ball (because the whole game was all about High Kicks) and cage that goblin while bashing up elves. It's a slow, methodical drive, with my trolls going stupid at the worst times, and the Bombardier explodes his bomb in his face, but I manage on turn 8 to do a dodge + double-GFI to tie the game. At this point I realize I haven't fouled even once, and mentally kick myself, thinking the game lost.

Second half, elves walk in, pass and score, making the game 2-1. I didn't even bother doing much to hinder that, beyond trying to throw a goblin close to their backfield elf with the ball. He landed on his face.

Once I got the ball again, I caged up at the LOS, and that's where we spent many turns after that. The elves boxed us in, which I was happy about, because my peeps started KO/stunning them, and I was able to make a dodge and run away with the lone ball-carrier when I realized that most of their force was a) on their backs b) in my backfield. This is the spot where Bombardier proved his worth, doing accurate tosses to stun elves at perfect times.

Elves could only rush one Catcher back there to pose any threat, so I fouled one elf off the field and caged up. They made a desperation effort to box my cage, which meant that I could punch them out of the way and go score on the last turn. Befofe that, I threw a bomb at an elf, and he caught it, and aimed it half a field down at my ball-carrier... I held my breath... and the bomb blew up in the elf's face. Such a fitting end to the game.

End result: 2-2 tie. In goblinese, that is a VICTORY. The flaws in our gameplans were that I didn't foul enough, while Brad scored too fast when he received (leaving me plenty of time to score back). I'm happy with the result, because it's better than I expected against elves.

while Brad scored too fast when he received (leaving me plenty of time to score back).

That's assuming that my main goal is to win.  My main goal is to get SPP for my players so that I'm strong in the lead up to the finals.  I'd rather give myself extra turns to potentially get the ball back and score with someone else.

Stingray's Dwarves dominated the game from the jump. In turn one he knocked out two of my players and things continued downhill from there. I'll let the stats tell the rest of the story.

Great game Stingray! Well played Sir

Ouch. That's about how I expected dwarf vs Norse to go.

My Pumpkin Pushers (goblin) met Deathy's Death By Snu-Snu (amazon), and oh boy.

All I wanted out of the match, I got in the first turn. I was receiving, the ball went off-field so I gave it to my troll for giggles, my chainsaw killed a linewoman, and the ball-carrying troll rolled triple-both downs on a block, resulting in a lost ball, but also a smashed collarbone on the amazon hit. Everything after that doesn't bear repeating.

Except that my thrown gobbos have a homing property. I throw them into a mass of amazons, and they manage to hit my lone player in the middle of them all. And apparently, if you hit your own players with a thrown player, it's a turnover.

Just played Jim's Norse. I think I'm done with league play until they get some bugs fixed. This is the second league game I've played and the second time the after-game results have fucked up. In the first game (not this league) none of the SPPs earned by myself or my opponent were recorded. In the game I just played with Jim I actually got a new Rotter via Nurgle's Rot but it didn't put it on my roster after I "hired" it.

Well Deatharea and I had an awesome match, that I was soooooo going to win anyway :P , but a computer crashed coupled with the continually backwards connection systems meant a 2-0 victory to me.  This really sucks and come's right on the back of Wapcaplets pulling out of the league thanks to equally frustrating bugs in his games.

I'm pretty peeved right now  >:(

You might have noticed that I haven't been on much lately and I'm sad to say that it's probably going to continue into the near future. I thought I'd have time to get a few games of blood bowl in but we're going to the open beta phase on my current project and that means my free time is going to be quite limited. If you don't mind, I'll stay in the league on the off chance I can get a game in but I don't expect to be able to play for a while.

Thanksgiving break starts... NOW! so I have time for this week.  Still have work to do (papers and crap that I can't put off), but I'd still love to get a couple games in at some point or other.
Can't say more. Joe says I have to write.

Sorry, buddy. The League ended around a year ago.  I know some folks are still playing, though. You could probably hit folks up for some games.

I've moved to Orca-Cola! Whose main benefit is that most of the players are european, so I can play during saner hours.  :P
