Gen Con 2011
« on: July 17, 2011, 11:39:16 PM »
Is it really only two weeks away?  I feel like I should be more excited/prepared/involved than I am.  Not sure what's up with that.

Anyway, I have no idea who's seeing what where, so forgive me if you read this in multiple places.

Here are the events I've signed up for at Gen Con: the Ultimate [Video] Gamer Gauntlet, Classic [Video] Gaming Tournament, 2 Brilliant Gameologist panels, the Media Meet & Greet, and a Shakespeare mashup thing that conflicts with a semi-private event and thus will likely be skipped.

I'll definitely be bringing Untold (a card-based RPG), maybe Ascension (depending on how packing space), and perhaps Fiasco and Kobolds Ate My Baby (why not?).

I haven't heard anything about people running games, but I'd love to get in on some. Still haven't played Houses, Burning Wheel, or Free Market (despite owning them). Would love to try Apocalypse World, Icons, or anything, really.

What's everybody else planning?
Can't say more. Joe says I have to write.

I'm planning the Social (invite-only).  Jenn and I have been working on that forever.

I want to hit Game Design is Mind Control, but who knows if I'll actually end up making that.

I am interested in running Burning Wheel for a group.  I could also probably be talked into running a Houses game, as well if'n you're interested.

Thursday is our TD, then a Sword Noir game with Fraser from Accidental Survivors
That thing Thursday night
Friday is going to be roaming around, hopefully we can get in a few pick up games.
Saturday Isadora is coming to the con with us, so lots of people watching and family activities.
Saturday night we are going to listen to a folk band. I know most of you will be at the Meet and Greet, but you are welcome to join us. Perhaps go to the dance after, if we can stay awake.

I'd be in for BW or Houses.  I can also run FreeMarket if people are interested.

I'm going to be hitting up Games on Demand and the Dealer Hall on Thursday morning, and playing in Fraser's Sword Noir game with Becca et al. I'm also set up for a Saturday morning media-only game of D&D with the fine folks from WotC as well as a demo of the new Penny Arcade card game at some point on Saturday. Thursday evening I'll be at the social with Chris and Fraser. I'm also set to play a game of Kirin Robinson's Old School Hack with him on Friday afternoon.

Otherwise, it's going to be pickup games with people, Games on Demand and the Dealer Hall. Oh, and drinking.
