Whats up with Gears?
« on: September 26, 2011, 09:45:07 PM »
I see some of you on playing now and then...  Anyone down for some game time?  Hit me up if you see me on.  Gamer ID is:  Causing HAVICK

I'm totally down with some Horde or campaign time.

As am I. Just finished up the single player, and have been itching to try out beast and horde modes. Just hate doing it with random people.

Let me know when good times are to game.  I am usually home around 6pmish everynight but spend time with the family.  On Fridays though, any time after 5pm and Saturdays pretty much all day same for Sunday.

I'm trying to get five folks together for Saturday at 19:00 central to do Beast, and the Horde mode. I'm calling it Saturday Night Co-op Kick-ass. http://bit.ly/prGCg9 So far it's me and Burning Dro.

Otherwise I play around 07:30 central for about an hour or so, and then around 18:00 to 19:00 for another hour or so. I'm "Clyde Three".

I'm also likely to start working on my insanity playthrough, if anyone else is interested in that.

Gonna see if I can round up some folks for some Horde mode on Friday night. Considering I am east coast, and the 2 possibles that I can bring are as well, thinking around 8pm ish here. If anyone wants in, hit me up.

Yeah, just hit me up if you see me on.  I'm usually doing versus multiplayer but I've fallen in love with the new Horde.  I'm usually up for anything, though.

You're going to have to show me the ropes on that, Clyde. I couldn't get into it in my first playthrough.

Beast mode is awesome. Havick, myself and a friend of mine rolled through all 12 levels on two different maps the other night. If you see me on, hit me up. Always down for more.

You have to learn what each beast creature is good at. Also some of them have moves that aren't listed. The Wretch's can jump spikes and barbed wire quickly by hitting your right bumper, for instance. It takes a bit of practice, because each Locust plays differently. There's some strategy in choices.

I have found, at least at the very beginning, its best if at least one person picks the wild ticker. Those things can take down a barrier or two to get the others in. Once you unlock a level or two up of creatures, the boomer is awesome for taking out both defenses and troops. Then there is the Berserker...... simply must be tried at least once.

I'm no good with the Boomer. I tend to choose the Corpser instead. I'm normally playing with random people so the ability to hide and heal is a must. Maybe with folks I knew I could get a good Kantus as backup and spend some time learning the arc on the boomshot.

If you are rolling with friends, the Boomer is awesome. The final level of Beast mode can be a bitch, but with 2 Boomer and a Berserker, those silly cogs dont stand a chance.
